What are the Credit Cards Available for Application in the Philippines

There are so many credit cards in the Philippines and all over the world, there are a few internationally recognized and allowed credit cards too. If you want to find what are the different credit cards available for your application in the country, please follow my lead below or read it from here - http://www.internetphilippines.com/finance/credit-card-philippines/. This blog will based from my very own experience as a holder of 5 different credit card bank providers in the country.

Currently, I have at least 4 credit cards and 3 more bank providers would like to have me given free credit card without even the need to apply to them. These banks were East West Bank, Maybank and SCB or Standard Chartered Bank.

The banks stated above were the ones trying to do me an ambush interview to offer me to get and activate a credit card they will give me without even the need to apply for them. Why? It's all because of the very good credit standing that I have with one bank provider for which I already have 3 years of steady account without any miss or unpaid balances. That bank is BPI. I have a BPI maxi saver account with a branch in Caloocan City for which I have good credit standing whilst I also have good standing accounts with BDO who also offered me and my wife (maybe because we have an account with them) an American Express Credit Card silver edition with 100K credit limit which we did not opt in to activate at all.

I also have a good credit standing with Metrobank and have a Metrobank credit card which has in time, increased credit limit due to use and without unpaid balance. So what am I leading you in to if you want to have a credit card in the Philippines without even the need to apply for one? Simple! Just open up an account and try to maintain a good standing of that account for at least 1 year without any widthrawals, just deposits that don't even need to be on a regular basis. But of course, if you can make that happen, then you have better chances of getting your own credit card offered right in the doorstep of your house without even having the need to apply for it.

The secret really lies in having a good standing account and credit line with different banks. As many accounts as you can will definitely help you get more offers. In my case, I have closed down and opted in to have my Metrobank credit card closed but the bank call center agents and customer service whom I've called just told me to get a hold of my card and that they will not close it down. Instead, I can opt in to use it anytime I decide to without getting charged of the yearly service fee of Php 1,500.00.

I was being offered by different bank providers in the Philippines and in fact, I'm beginning to wonder where the hell these call center agents are getting my telephone number calling me at home trying to ask me if I already have a credit card. I just keep on declining their offers to have a credit card with them because currently, I am very happy with my account with BPI credit card in the Philippines which is attached to my maxi saver account.
